Nifty opened with a gap up of 5 points at 8272 and made a high of 8286.4. During first half of the trading session the market stayed mostly range bound in 8230-8260. Once the 8200 support was broken all hell broke loose. The market went south with no respite what so ever. After filling the gap left at 8207-8173 the market went on to make 8155 low. On the daily charts Nifty has completed the Bearish Harami pattern with big black body confirmation. The market will start its move down again to correct the rise from 7723-8627, once the 8120-8080 is taken out. The market is likely to trade sideways with negative bias for the day.
The support for nifty is at 8150-8115-8080 and the resistance lies at 8210-8262-8297. Nifty January Future
has been trading at 103-104 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on
the Nifty January Options of ATM strike calls were at 15.48 and for puts were at 13.12. India VIX closed at 15.07.
PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 0.89 and PCR for the day based on
volumes was at 0.88 for the market.
