As expected nifty opened with a gap up 26 points in line strong Asian markets. The market then moved up and ran into resistance at the levels of 5934 and gave away. The market then tested the gap at 5853-5844 making the low of 5858 and bounced back sharply.
The FIIs are continuously selling in the cash market and futures market. With the rupee hitting an all time low the market is poised for more downside. It is important that the gap at 5853-5844 hold for market to go up. But the setup doesn't support a big upside. The support for nifty is at 5845-5795 and resistance is at 5881-5896.
Nifty June Future has been trading at 15-16 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty June Options of ATM strike calls were at 16.75 and for puts were at 19.40. India VIX closed at 18.11. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 0.98 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.03 for the market.
