Nifty has had a pretty choppy session today. It opened in red, then drifted to the lows of 5778. After testing the support of 5770 it bounced back sharply to the high of 5809. After that it had been only a range bound session. It was only European markets in the 2nd half that dictated direction to nifty. Initially nifty went down but soon recovered to make day high of 5828m and closed marginally positive.
As per my view, nifty is trading in the broad range of 5770-5865. The FOMC meet today night will provide clear direction for the markets world wide. Ben Bernanke is expected to keep the fiscal stimulus going on and let the QE wind up up to his successor. But even a hawkish tone will be enough to send markets on downward trajectory. The long positions should be held till 5770 is protected. The support for nifty lies at 5790-5740-5700 and the resistance is at 5845-5880-5945.
Nifty June Future has been trading at 1 points premium to the spot.
The implied volatility on the Nifty June Options of ATM strike calls
were at 17.93 and for puts were at 21.68. India VIX closed at 18.46. PCR
for Nifty based on open interest was at 0.93 and PCR for the day based
on volumes was at 0.97 for the market.
