Nifty Daily For 30th January 2015



                   Nifty opened with a gap down of 13 points at 8901 and made a high of 8966.65. The market stayed sideways for the entire trading session in the 8860-8900 range. The expiry however came near the lifetime high in the last half an hour trading. The market has to close above the rising trend line resistance at 8964 to move towards the 9030 target. As long as this is intact the market is expected to remain sideways. The market is expected to be sideways with negative bias for the day.  
                    The support for nifty is at 8910-8860-8820 and the resistance lies at 8990-9030-9075. Nifty January Future has been trading at 33-34 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty January Options of ATM strike calls were at 15.74 and for puts were at 19.88. India VIX closed at 19.4325. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.00 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 0.98 for the market.

Coal India Ltd: The government has fixed a floor price of Rs 358 a share for its up to 10% stake sale in Coal India on Friday. This is a 4.6% discount to the closing price of Rs 375.15 for the company's shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.

Sesa Sterlite Ltd: Sesa Sterlite posted 11 per cent dip in consolidated profit after tax during the third quarter of the current fiscal at Rs 1,588 crore subdued oil prices lowered income.

Bharti Airtel: Bharti Airtel is applying for a payments bank licence and has roped in Kotak Mahindra Bank as a potential investor in the venture, in a bid to tap significant revenue opportunities from the Reserve Bank of India's financial inclusion initiative.

SKS Microfinance Ltd: SKS Microfinance reported nearly two-fold increase in net profit at Rs 41.1 crore for October-December quarter and also said it will seek licence from RBI for setting up a small finance bank.

Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd: Pharmaceuticals major Dr Reddy's Laboratories today reported a 7 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 574.5 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014 on account of impairments.

BHEL: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has announced commissioning of 600 MW thermal power project in Odisha.

Tata Motors Ltd: Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company by revenues, plans to raise its capital expenditure by Rs 10,000 crore a year as it strives to make a strong comeback in the domestic market.

NTPC: The company has shortlisted power plants of GVK, Essar and Avantha out of 32 proposals it received from private electricity producers eager to sell stakes to the state-run behemoth, which is willing to invest as much as Rs 10,000 crore to acquire minority interest in stranded projects.

HCL Technologies Ltd: The IT major is expected to report 5.3% QoQ fall in net profit to Rs 1772.70 crore for the quarter ended December 31, as compared to Rs 1873 crore reported in the year-ago period.

Rico Auto Ltd: The board of Rico Auto Industries approved transfer of the company's investments held in three subsidiary firms to Rico Investments, another unit of the auto component manufacturing firm.

Ashok Leyland Ltd: Hinduja group flagship Ashok Leyland today posted a net profit of Rs 32.09 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, primarily on account of buying ahead of the excise duty hike.

HCC Ltd: Ajit Gulabchand-led HCC's net profit soared to Rs 27. 1 crore in the third quarter of 2014-15 from Rs 5.4 crore a year ago, driven primarily by receipt of payments from arbitration with its clients.

Nifty Daily For 29th January 2015



                   Nifty opened with a gap down of 8 points at 8902 and made a high of 8985. The market stayed in range during first half of the trading session. However it shot up to above 8956 but failed to close above it . The market is likely to give expiry below 8900 level. As long as 8956 is not taken out conclusively the market is likely to correct to lower levels of 8800.
                    The support for nifty is at 8842-8798-8756 and the resistance lies at 8956-9005-9054. Nifty January Future has been trading at 9-10 points discount to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty January Options of ATM strike calls were at 13.52 and for puts were at 19.06. India VIX closed at 19.77. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.09 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.06 for the market.

HDFC Ltd: The mortgage lender is expected to report 11.2 percent YoY growth in net profit to Rs 1421 crore for the quarter ended December 31, as compared to Rs 1277.7 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.

OBC: The bank is expected to report 30.6% YoY growth in net profit to Rs 293 crore for the quarter ended December 31, as compared to Rs 224.3 crore reported in the year-ago period.

L&T Finance Ltd: L&T Finance said it will raise Rs 250 crore through private placement of non- convertible debentures. L&T Finance, which is a non-banking finance company and a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T Finance Holdings Ltd, is part of the engineering major L&T.

RIL: Public sector oil retailer Indian Oil Corporation has lost to Reliance Industries Ltd the contract for supplying diesel to the Indian Railways.

Havells India Ltd: Electrical goods maker Havells India today reported a 4.33 per cent decline in its standalone net profit at Rs. 116.21 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Coal India Ltd: The government has decided to launch the Rs 24,000 crore share sale of Coal India on Friday - January 30 after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs decides the price band for the issue on Wednesday evening.

Maruti Suzuki Ltd: Suzuki Motor started construction of a manufacturing plant in Gujarat that Chairman Osamu Suzuki called the start of a "new era" for the Japanese carmaker

Lupin Ltd: The government allowed drug maker Lupin to raise the cap of foreign institutional investor holding to 49 per cent, a move that would facilitate an inflow of Rs 6,099 crore.

JM Finnacial Ltd: Diversified financial services firm JM Financial Group, promoted by noted rainmaker Nimesh Kampani, reported near doubling of its consolidated net at Rs 87 crore in the December quarter, up from Rs 44.16 crore a year ago.

HDFC Bank Ltd: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved HDFC Bank's capital-raising plan that would result in an inflow of foreign investment worth Rs 10,000 crore.

Tata Motors Ltd: India's biggest automobile company by revenues, is aiming to more than triple its network to 1,500 over the next three years from 460 now, making it the biggest such expansion by a passenger vehicle maker in the country so far, ET reported.

Torrent Pharma Ltd: Torrent Pharmaceuticals plans to raise up to Rs 10,000 crore by issuing securities and will seek shareholders' nod in this regard.

MIRC Electronics Ltd: The manufacturers of home appliances under the ONIDA brand, is eyeing to double its turnover in the air conditioner business to Rs 750 crore in 2015, a top official said.

Tata Power Ltd: The Tata group firm will acquire group firm Nelco's defence business of Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) for about Rs 8.3 crore.

Nifty Daily For 28th January 2015



                   Nifty opened with a gap up of 35 points at 8871 and made a high of 8925. For most of the trading session the market stayed in the range of 8860-8820. The sharp up move was seen only in the last hour of trading. The market basically consolidated before taking out the crucial resistance of 8856. On the daily charts the market has formed a spinning top which indicates indecision. The expiry can be expected in the 8900-8950 range. For the day the market is likely to stay sideways with negative bias.   
                    The support for nifty is at 8857-8798-8745 and the resistance lies at 8952-9886-9010. Nifty January Future has been trading at 12-13 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty January Options of ATM strike calls were at 17.46 and for puts were at 16.45. India VIX closed at 18.085. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.21 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.17 for the market.

Titan Company Ltd: Tata group firm Titan Company Ltd today reported 15.19 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 190.73 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Amara Raja Batteries: The company posted 7.71 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 102.34 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014. It ad posted a net profit of Rs 95.01 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013.

Godrej Properties Ltd: The real estate arm of Godrej Group, today reported a 26.44 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 47.24 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014 mainly on the back of higher sales.
