Nifty opened flat at 7746 and traded sideways for better part of first session. The market broke the previous low of 7722 to test the 7700 support. A sharp bounce was seen, which took the market to 7800 level. For the market to sustain the gains it is very important to cross the of 7809. The market is expected to trade sideways with negative bias. A breach of 7743 will negate all the gains and market will fall below 7700 support.
The support for nifty is at 7764-7738-7694 and the resistance lies at 7809-7845-7887. Nifty August Future has
been trading at 3-4 points discount to the spot. The implied volatility on the
Nifty August Options of ATM strike calls were at 13.03 and for puts were at 13.2. India VIX closed at 13.8875.
PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 0.98 and PCR for the day based on
volumes was at 0.95 for the market.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd: India's largest carmaker is expected to report 13 per cent YoY growth in its net profit number to Rs 715 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 632 crore reported in the year-ago period, according to ET Now estimates.
ICICI Bank Ltd: India's largest private sector bank is likely to report 13.7 per cent YoY growth in net profit to Rs 2585 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 2274.20 crore reported in the year-ago period.
Dhanuka Agritech: The Agrochemicals firm posted 18 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 20.45 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30 on account of higher income.
NTPC Ltd: Country's largest power producer NTPCBSE 0.20 % has sought shareholders' nod for raising up to Rs 13,000 crore through issue of securities.
GAIL India Ltd: Faced with the prospect of a second Presidential directive, state gas utility GAIL India Ltd has decided to buy from Indian shipbuilders a third of the LNG ships for ferrying gas from the US.

Unitech Ltd: Real estate developer Unitech is selling 17.5 acres of land in Noida's Sector 144 to local builder Gulshan Homz for Rs 400 crore, two people with knowledge of the deal said.
Sun Pharma & Ranbaxy: Mumbai-based Sun Pharmaceutical Industries will seek shareholders nod for its $ 4 billion acquisition of Ranbaxy Laboratories in a court convened meeting on August 22.
Talwalkars Better Value Fitness: British health and fitness group David Lloyd is purchasing a roughly 20% stake in Talwalkars Better Value Fitness for Rs 500 crore at Rs 300 a piece, valuing the health fitness chain at Rs 1000 crore three people with direct knowledge of the deal said.
Monsanto India Ltd: Agri-biotechnology major Monsanto India reported 26.28 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 71.02 crore for the first quarter of current fiscal on the back of higher sales.
MphasiS: HP-owned IT services firm MphasiS reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 174.79 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014. The company in a BSE filing said it has changed its accounting year end from October to March, effective November 1, 2013.
EID Parry Ltd: Murugappa Group company EID Parry reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 30.03 crore for the first quarter ending June 30, 2014. The Chennai-based company had reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 103.08 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year, a company statement said.
Amtek Auto Ltd: Auto component firm Amtek Auto today reported a 60.56 per cent jump in standalone net profit at Rs 86.08 crore for the third quarter ended June 30 on the account of higher sales.
Karnataka Bank: City based private sector bank - Karnataka Bank has posted a 29.16% rise in net profit for June quarter of the current fiscal. The net profit is Rs 121.63 crore as against Rs 94.17 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Business turnover touched Rs 71,620 crore
