Nifty opened with a gap up of 18 points at 7915 and made a high of 7922.70. The market made new life time high but failed to cross the 7920 level decisively. The market is likely to retrace down till 7840 before moving up. According to option data the 7800 levels will act as strong support and 7900 is strong resistance. On hourly time frame the index has broken down from the rising channel move of the past 6 days. This pattern target lies at 7790 near the 7800 support.
The support for nifty is at 7835-7800-7771 and the resistance lies at 7887-7920-7951. Nifty August Future has
been trading at 14-15 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the
Nifty August Options of ATM strike calls were at 11.33 and for puts were at 11.65. India VIX closed at 13.66.
PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.13 and PCR for the day based on
volumes was at 1.04 for the market.
