Nifty opened gap down of 45 points on very weak global sentiments. The support of 5800 & the previous days low was breached on the opening. It was an ideal shorting opportunity with the today's top as stop loss. The market is at very strong support of 5755. As long as the gap of 5700-5755 is in tact, an up move to 5800- 5850 can be expected. The bank nifty has been the main culprit with PSU banks down between 4-8%. I has now tested the falling channel, which it fallowed during previous down move from 13414-11033.
The support for nifty is at
5745-5700-5680 and the resistance lies at 5800-5845-5880. Nifty July
Future has been trading at 3-4 points discount to the spot. The implied
volatility on the Nifty
July Options of ATM strike calls were at 14.04 and for puts were at
20.30. India VIX closed at 18.91. PCR for Nifty based on open interest
was at 1.21 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1 for the
market.
