Nifty Daily For 19th July 2013

Nifty opened marginally in the green at 5984 and make high of 6005. It then kept trading in the tight band of 25 points i.e. 6005 and 5975 for better part of the session. Only the last half an hour saw the buying coming in and it swiftly broke past the earlier highs of 6038. Nifty made a new swing high of 6051. The bank nifty was the main component taking the nifty up on its shoulders. Bank nifty outperformed nifty with the closing gains of 2% v/s 1% gains of nifty. This again underlined the importance of banks contributing in the rally. Although the Fed chairman Mr. Ben Bernanke testimony to the congress was neutral, there was no specific plan laid out for tightening of monetary policy. It only reiterated the fact that Fed will keep easing till economic growth is clearly visible.  The nifty will keep moving up along with other world markets.
The support for nifty is at 6025-5975-5955 and the resistance lies at 6088-6120-6165. Nifty July Future has been trading at 14-15 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty July Options of ATM strike calls were at 16.93 and for puts were at 15.96. India VIX closed at 18.27. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.31 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.20 for the market.
