Nifty Daily For 24th July 2013

Nifty opened gap up 32 points on the strong Asian markets and went on to build the gains to the highs of 6093. The levels of 6088 hold importance and a sustained move above it will take the markets to higher levels of 6140-6200. The rally mainly came on the back of strong move in bank nifty. The beaten down stocks like bank of Baroda, Kotak bank, IDFC were heading the rally up while rally leading stocks like lupin, asian paints, wipro were down. The weak AD ratio is also diverging from the rally, indicating that the rally is close to its peak. So the market has to gel in all sectors to build in the strength if it has to move up and make a new all time high. The time will tell if we are to see new highs or will drift lower.
The support for nifty is at 6065-6030-6010 and the resistance lies at 6095-6125-6150. Nifty July Future has been trading at 10-11 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty July Options of ATM strike calls were at 17.75 and for puts were at 13.71. India VIX closed at 18.89. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.35 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.26 for the market.
