Nifty Daily For 27th September 2013



             The September expiry has been a non event, more or less trading in the range of 50 points. The expectations among the majority of market participants would have been high, but as mentioned above, Nifty traded more or less in a straight line with no trending action for the day. The index took out previous day’s Hammer patterns high and hence stop on all existing longs is to be kept strictly below 5800. On the higher side, the target/resistance is seen at 5929 and then 6070-6090. Day traders are advised to employ initial half-hour rule and trade in the direction of the breakout. The intraday supports in Nifty are placed around 5845 and 5802, whereas resistances are seen around 5929 and 5960.
          The support for nifty is at 6009-5970-5945 and the resistance lies at 6040-6085-6105. Nifty October Future has been trading at 64-65 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty October Options of ATM strike calls were at 23.97 and for puts were at 22.79. India VIX closed at 25.68. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.22 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.01 for the market.

Omaxe Ltd: The realty firm said its promoters would sell tomorrow over 1.52 crore shares at Rs 135 per shares through stock exchanges to dilute their stake in order to meet market regulator SEBI's norms on minimum public shareholding.

Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd: Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co.'s Sunovion won an appeals court ruling today that Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.'s generic version of Lunesta would infringe a patent that expires next year.

Bharti Airtel Ltd: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is likely to impose an additional penalty of Rs 204.35 crore to the country's largest telecom operator by subscriber base Bharti Airtel for offering 3G services in the seven service areas, through intra-circle roaming pacts with other operators, where it does not have required spectrum.

Tata Teleservices: Tata Teleservices, Russia's Sistema JSFC and Aircel, controlled by Malaysia's Maxis, are in exploratory talks for a three-way merger to create India's third-largest telecom company by subscribers, said three persons familiar with the development.

SpiceJet Ltd: Billionaire investor Wilbur Ross- headed global private equity group WL Ross has paid Rs 1.10 crore to settle long-running Sebi proceedings with regard to purchase of shares in Indian carrier SpiceJet.

MCX Ltd: The Reserve Bank today said the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) investment in Multi Commodity Exchange has reached the trigger limit under portfolio investment scheme and purchase of further equity shares of company will require its approval.

Oberoi Realty: The promoters' offer to sell 1.14 crore shares through stock exchanges was subscribed 1.62 times, helping the company meet Sebi's minimum public shareholding norm. The average price for bids was Rs 166.93 apiece.

Nifty Daily For 26th September 2013

                Nifty opened above 5900 and played range bound. The markets soon drifted lower to test 5800 support and bounced back to 5887 finally settling at 5873. As expected the massive put writing in the 5800PE provided the necessary support for nifty. The expiry tomorrow is going to be a tricky one. There has been some action going on in 5800CE and 5800PE. The market is expected to swing both ways before expiring in 5800-5900 levels.


The support for nifty is at 5810-5742-5688 and the resistance lies at 5903-5945-6015. Nifty September Future has been trading at 16-17 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty September Options of ATM strike calls were at 16.9 and for puts were at 12.76. India VIX closed at 58.68. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.29 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.06 for the market.

Jet Airways Ltd: Jet Airways and Etihad have submitted revised documents to the government seeking to allay the FIPB's concerns over control of their proposed venture, saying the commercial co-operation agreement (CCA) will not override powers vested with the company's board.

Tata Power Ltd: Tata Power said the company generated 90% more power in 2012-13 as compared to previous year. The company generated 34,682 million units of power from all its power plants in the year 2012-13 compared to 18,317 MUs in the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd: The country's largest car maker, today said it will increase the prices of its entire range of models by up to Rs 10,000 from October first week, mainly due to depreciation of rupee.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd: The group flagship Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) has now shortlisted its two cement units in Himachal Pradesh to be put on the block and has already initiated dialogues with their potential suitors, said multiple sources involved. These asset sales are aimed to further trim its group debt from the already stretched balance sheet.

Bharti Airtel & Idea cellular Ltd: Telecom regulator Trai recommended that MNP be fully implemented across the country within six months to allow subscribers to retain their numbers even when they shift from one service area to another.

HCL Technologies Ltd: Software services company said it has won a multi-year multi-million dollar contract to modernise unemployment insurance services in the US states of Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona and North Dakota.

Oberoi Realty Ltd: Oberoi Realty said that its promoters will sell 1.14 crore shares tomorrow at Rs 158 per share through stock exchanges to meet market regulator Sebi's guidelines on minimum public shareholding norm. The sale is expected to fetch over Rs 180 crore to the promoters if it is fully subscribed.

MTNL Ltd: Global telecom equipment makers Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Solutions Networks, Huawei Telecommunications and ZTE have put in bids for supplying gear for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.'s much delayed 1.6-million line.

ONGC: Oil and Natural Gas (ONGC) expects its output to surge by over 50% to 100 million standard cubic metres a day (mmscmd) by 2017-18 as new fields commence production.

Gitanjali Gems Ltd: Foreign fund house Credit Suisse (Singapore) today sold 19.75 lakh shares of branded jewellery firm Gitanjali Gems in a transaction worth Rs 11.87 crore.

Radico Khaitan: Morgan Stanley Asia has sold 0.53% stake in Radico Khaitan on Wednesday for Rs 80.92 million on NSE. It has sold 0.70 million shares at a price of Rs 121.85. Radico Khaitan is India's fourth largest liquor maker.

JSPL: Jindal Steel and Power plans to set up a 7-mtpa pellet plant at Angul in Orissa at an investment of around R1,400 crore.

Nifty Daily For 25th September 2013

             Nifty opened gap down of 34 points at 5854 and bounced back sharply to the high of 5938.  The market retained its range for most of the remaining time. The markets look poised for a blast on the expiry if tomorrow also remains range bound. The markets have formed a belt hold pattern today indicating further upside as long as 5840 is protected. If 5840 is breached then the support of 5750-5720 should kick in. The expiry drama can start unfolding sooner than later. The strong put writing in 5800PE and 5700PE indicates the expiry to stay above 5800.


           The support for nifty is at 5850-5800-5751 and the resistance lies at 5945-5989-6035. Nifty September Future has been trading at 21-22 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty September Options of ATM strike calls were at 32.31 and for puts were at 22.91. India VIX closed at 26.72. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.49 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.04 for the market.

Tata Motors Ltd: Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) today announced a multi-million-pound investment in research and development in the UK that will be focused on a state-of-the-art centre at the University of Warwick campus.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd: TCS said it would set up an all-women business processes outsourcing centre in Saudi Arabia, a conservative Islamic nation where women must be accompanied by a male relative when in public and are not allowed to drive.

Hexaware Technologies Ltd: Approving one of the biggest deals in the Indian IT space, fair trade watchdog CCI has cleared Baring Private Equity's proposed acquisition of controlling stake in outsourcing firm Hexaware Technologies, saying the transaction will not adversely impact competition.

Kingfisher Airlines Ltd: Criris-hit KFA said it is in talks with a foreign investor for potential stake sale, its Chairman Vijay Mallya said on Tuesday. The stock gained nearly 10 per cent on Tuesday and is likely to see further traction on Wednesday.

SAIL: State-owned steelmaker SAIL has tied up with Siemens to upgrade the technical competence of its work force. Siemens will offer training in automation, DC/AC servo drives, switchgears and other related technologies such as process instrumentation and mechatronics at the steel major's units in Bhilai, Bokaro, Durgapur, Rourkela, Burnpur, Salem, Bhadravati and Kolkata.

Hindustan Motors Ltd: Crisis-ridden Hindustan Motors, a C K Birla group company, is gearing up for the launch of a small car in the next fiscal, its MD and CEO Uttam Bose said on Tuesday.
