Nifty opened 80 points gap up at 5930 and rose to make the high of 5957. However the sell off from top was unexpected. Nifty lost all grounds on weak WPI which indicated a rise to 6.1 against the expectation of 5.8. The nifty rested near 5800 due to the massive support built due to put writing. The had 5800PE added nearly 3.5lakh but at closing the figure came down to a meager 1.17 lakhs. This indicates that the market is not sure of down side support but builds intra day supports. The banks helped market stay afloat as The IT Ship sank with nearly 2.5% losses. The sectoral rotation is used to keep market stable while each sector takes the correction. As long as 5750-5700 is protected on down side the markets can head up for the final top.
The
support for nifty is at 5803-5785-5742 and the resistance lies at 5903-5957-6030.
Nifty September Future has been trading at 21-22 points premium to the spot. The
implied volatility on the Nifty September Options of ATM strike calls were at 29.97 and for puts were at 29.2. India VIX closed at 28.82. PCR for Nifty
based on open interest was at 1.5 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at
1.2 for the market.
