Nifty opened gap down of 34 points at 5854 and bounced back sharply to the high of 5938. The market retained its range for most of the remaining time. The markets look poised for a blast on the expiry if tomorrow also remains range bound. The markets have formed a belt hold pattern today indicating further upside as long as 5840 is protected. If 5840 is breached then the support of 5750-5720 should kick in. The expiry drama can start unfolding sooner than later. The strong put writing in 5800PE and 5700PE indicates the expiry to stay above 5800.
The
support for nifty is at 5850-5800-5751 and the resistance lies at 5945-5989-6035.
Nifty September Future has been trading at 21-22 points premium to the spot. The
implied volatility on the Nifty September Options of ATM strike calls were at 32.31 and for puts were at 22.91. India VIX closed at 26.72. PCR for Nifty
based on open interest was at 1.49 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at
1.04 for the market.
