Nifty Daily For 26th September 2013

                Nifty opened above 5900 and played range bound. The markets soon drifted lower to test 5800 support and bounced back to 5887 finally settling at 5873. As expected the massive put writing in the 5800PE provided the necessary support for nifty. The expiry tomorrow is going to be a tricky one. There has been some action going on in 5800CE and 5800PE. The market is expected to swing both ways before expiring in 5800-5900 levels.


The support for nifty is at 5810-5742-5688 and the resistance lies at 5903-5945-6015. Nifty September Future has been trading at 16-17 points premium to the spot. The implied volatility on the Nifty September Options of ATM strike calls were at 16.9 and for puts were at 12.76. India VIX closed at 58.68. PCR for Nifty based on open interest was at 1.29 and PCR for the day based on volumes was at 1.06 for the market.

Jet Airways Ltd: Jet Airways and Etihad have submitted revised documents to the government seeking to allay the FIPB's concerns over control of their proposed venture, saying the commercial co-operation agreement (CCA) will not override powers vested with the company's board.

Tata Power Ltd: Tata Power said the company generated 90% more power in 2012-13 as compared to previous year. The company generated 34,682 million units of power from all its power plants in the year 2012-13 compared to 18,317 MUs in the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd: The country's largest car maker, today said it will increase the prices of its entire range of models by up to Rs 10,000 from October first week, mainly due to depreciation of rupee.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd: The group flagship Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) has now shortlisted its two cement units in Himachal Pradesh to be put on the block and has already initiated dialogues with their potential suitors, said multiple sources involved. These asset sales are aimed to further trim its group debt from the already stretched balance sheet.

Bharti Airtel & Idea cellular Ltd: Telecom regulator Trai recommended that MNP be fully implemented across the country within six months to allow subscribers to retain their numbers even when they shift from one service area to another.

HCL Technologies Ltd: Software services company said it has won a multi-year multi-million dollar contract to modernise unemployment insurance services in the US states of Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona and North Dakota.

Oberoi Realty Ltd: Oberoi Realty said that its promoters will sell 1.14 crore shares tomorrow at Rs 158 per share through stock exchanges to meet market regulator Sebi's guidelines on minimum public shareholding norm. The sale is expected to fetch over Rs 180 crore to the promoters if it is fully subscribed.

MTNL Ltd: Global telecom equipment makers Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Solutions Networks, Huawei Telecommunications and ZTE have put in bids for supplying gear for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.'s much delayed 1.6-million line.

ONGC: Oil and Natural Gas (ONGC) expects its output to surge by over 50% to 100 million standard cubic metres a day (mmscmd) by 2017-18 as new fields commence production.

Gitanjali Gems Ltd: Foreign fund house Credit Suisse (Singapore) today sold 19.75 lakh shares of branded jewellery firm Gitanjali Gems in a transaction worth Rs 11.87 crore.

Radico Khaitan: Morgan Stanley Asia has sold 0.53% stake in Radico Khaitan on Wednesday for Rs 80.92 million on NSE. It has sold 0.70 million shares at a price of Rs 121.85. Radico Khaitan is India's fourth largest liquor maker.

JSPL: Jindal Steel and Power plans to set up a 7-mtpa pellet plant at Angul in Orissa at an investment of around R1,400 crore.
